A year on from when she first conceived of embarking on a boundary breaking mission to the North Pole, Elham shares her views on change and paradigm shifts as a result of individual action and, for the first time, she reflects on what happened aside from the pure physical challenge.
In April 2010 Elham Qasimi successfully completed an unassisted and unsupported expedition to the Geographic North Pole. During a two-week journey, Elham skied cross-country to the North Pole starting at 89 degrees latitude. As a result, she is the first Arab woman to set foot on the North Pole and the first UAE national to undertake an unassisted, unsupported expedition to the North Pole.
