Do you have an idea worth spreading? Then come and audition at Virgin Megastore Mall of the Emirates on Sept 7 and 8 for a chance to speak at TEDxDubai 2012 #TheGoodCitizen. In order to book your place to audition please email auditions@tedxdubai.com and you will receive a set of instruction.
What should you know before applying? Well first of all you should be a TED fan, be familiar with the TED talks format and rules, but let us remind you of a few DON’T:
1.No product placement or endorsement allowed in your talk
2.No company pitches from the stage
3. Nothing religious or political
We are looking for #TheGoodCitizen that has created something that benefits communities and cities at large, or has good example and behaviors that everyone could adopt for immediate impact. “Ideas worth Doing “as well as “Ideas worth Spreading”. Do you have an interesting solution on home based waste reduction? Have you significantly modified your lifestyle with tangible proofs of environmental benefit? Are you a designer that has conceptualized or created something that could shake the public because it’s green, sustainable or incredibly innovative? Have you got an interesting take on food consumption, production, permaculture, sustainable cultivation in the desert, water consumption or education on those subjects? Or Are you an artist who sees the city as a global canvas to communicate change and have you got a project to show? Are you a scientist, a technologist a bio -curios, a social entrepreneur, a maker that experiments prototypes in his garage?
Technology, Entertainment and Design, remain the core TED with the additional power of X, that ingredient that has so far spread across more than 4500 global events and here in Dubai has found a home within a vibrant multicultural community.
We are calling on #TheGoodCitizen to stand up and spread ideas.
